How many times have you been excited to shoot a great location, then it felt like nothing looked good in Lightroom? An awe-inspiring vista transformed into a muddy blob against an overexposed foreground. This is both the thrill and challenge of nature photography – it is unpredictable. We have to go to our subjects’ locations and adapt to the conditions around them. We aren’t in a studio setting where we can tweak the lighting, mood, and subject until we’re happy. Interestingly, my Silver Efex Pro presets were also re-installed, so I didn't have to update anything else.Nature photography requires us to be adaptable. Open Photoshop/Lightroom to see if the Nik Collection fully installed and activated.Open C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CSx (64 bit)\Plug-ins and C:\Program Files\ to verify that Google is listed.Confirm that Photoshop/Lightroom is listed as a Compatible Host.Let the installer go the default location of C:\Program Files\Google\Nik Collection.Open the downloaded file when the download is complete.Please download the exe file with the link below.Delete all files that begin with NikCollection_.Open Start > Computer > C:\ > Users > *USERNAME* > Downloads.C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CSx\Plug-ins.C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CSx (64 bit)\Plug-ins.Delete any instance of Google or Nik Software.It is not necessary to "Remove preferences" here. Open the Windows Control Panel then Programs and Features.Visit for information about exporting and saving your presets/recipes. Please be advised that this will delete any custom presets/recipes. To resolve this issue, we must reinstall the Nik Collection to the default locations.
